Welcome to The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay. We love all good food, but we are especially passionate about Australia’s wonderful array of local fish and seafood, freshly caught every day. Oysters are one of our obsessions.

And while you are exploring our daily menus or simply sharing a plate of oysters in The Boathouse Bar, you can also enjoy magical views across Blackwattle Bay to the Anzac Bridge and Sydney Fish Market from our historic boathouse home. You might even spot a few Sydney rowers gliding by.

It takes just 10 minutes drive from the City centre, or a water taxi ride to our door, to experience this spectacular flip side view of our amazing city. It gets better year by year; we’ve been enjoying it for 21 years, so far!

Sweet and smoky, our Ballina prawns are pan-roasted to perfection with tarragon and cider butter. They’re plated up whole – no fuss – just dig in. Right @wahwaheats? #boathouseonblackwattle

The mahi’s running thick and roed up this week. We harvest the salty lobes and brine them overnight. In the morning, they get cold smoked and blended with grapeseed oil, lemon juice and sourdough to make a lush, umami-rich mayonnaise. We sit the mahi by its side, topped with quick-fried zucchini flowers. Summer is served. #boathouseonblackwattle

Our house-baked potato blinis are begging to be spread with @meandervalleydairy creme fraiche, punchy wasabi and the finest @yarvalley salmon caviar. It’s about as DIY as it gets here at #BoathouseonBlackwattle ✨
